“I’m spending a few weeks in Ohio visiting family, and the past few weeks have just been full of quintessential summer things. Ice cream, baseball, corn on the cob, thunderstorms, evenings outside on the deck, and playing with my nieces who are on summer break. It’s such a refreshing change of pace, but it’s certainly an adjustment. I’m used to spending the days all by my lonesome, working on my projects in my pajamas while talking to myself. Now there are people around! Who want to DO things! All the time! It can be a bit overwhelming, so if you notice things are a little slow on the blog it’s because I’m babysitting the girls, went shopping with my mom, or met a friend for a girl’s night. Things that are impossible to say “No” to when they’re only around for a few weeks a year. You understand, right?”
*I can’t believe I haven’t made these peach tarts with goat cheese and honey yet. What am I waiting for? I need to make them here, since I can’t find puff pastry OR yellow peaches in Tokyo.
*Can someone please turn this pineapple print into . . . everything? Napkins, an apron, a SHIRT, a picnic blanket, whatever. I’m in.
“There’s a war going on every Friday in my office: the battle between savory or sweet breakfast. This week, savory won with this glorious eggs benedict. I paired it with a ridiculous tumbler full of New Orleans style iced coffee. I really wish savory could win every week- you? I mean, pancakes have their place, but I want you to look this homemade bacon in the face and tell IT that. ”
* Do you love Tom Haverford? You should probably watch this video.
* All my friends have been raving about the new Fall collection at Banana Republic. My favorite piece is this Jacquard Elbow-Sleeve Top.
* Buying clothes on Etsy scares me for some (likely insane) reason, but I might look for courage to buy this maxi dress. Would the tie be weird?
