I’m back in Tokyo now, after a wonderful month in the States. While I was there, my parents and I took a road trip to Boston. We stopped in the Finger Lakes on the way, went into Boston for a day, and spent an afternoon in Salem.
Here are a few photos and highlights from the trip. We saw beautiful sights, ate delicious food and enjoyed great company!

One of our favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes region was Heron Hill. The wines are great, and we especially liked this riesling flight. The best part is definitely the remarkable views, however.

We stopped at Lively Run in the Finger Lakes. They have a great selection of goat cheeses, and our favorite was a harder cheese brined in local beer. They also had different flavors of chevre, a blue cheese and a mild feta.

The Declaration of Independence was read from the balcony of the Old State House. I think that more buildings should incorporate unicorns into their architecture, don’t you?

We tried a few mini cannoli from a bakery in the Little Italy neighborhood. One of the filling options had nutella added to the traditional ricotta. It was amazing, and my mom was in heaven (that’s her, licking her fingers!). Isn’t she cute?

Boston is full of beautiful brick buildings and charming reminders that it’s one of the oldest cities in America.
