Alyssa's Week

take your time from www.alyssaandcarla.com

“Ohmygosh, you guys, PARIS!  I’m in love.  The food, the people, the art . . . gah!  Our AirBnb experiences were mixed.  The Paris apartment was great, but the Rome place was not so fantastic.  But I guess that’s how it works, right?  Even with hotels, you’re taking a chance that you’ll end up in less-than-ideal circumstances.  But our trip was overall a success and we saw amazing things, met great people, ate delicious food and drank fabulous wine.  It is great to be home, though, and not living out of a suitcase any more!”

*I adore these little studs from the Hawaiian Etsy shop Ke Aloha Jewelry.  They’re a beautiful combination of raw and polished, sparkly and organic.  The only issue I have is in deciding which color to get!

*Apparently I’m really into natural stones right now, because I also love the look of these agate and gold coasters.

*These popsicles are as pretty as can be and have no sugar added.  What a great idea for kids AND adults!

Carla's Week

Carla's Weekly Love Letter for 5.9.2014

“Last weekend, I went out on an impromptu walk.  There’s a lot to be said about a city where you can wander around and end up at this gorgeous view without even trying!  This week has felt really busy, but in that good way where you can feel shifts happening for the right reason.  Add a just-booked last-minute trip to Cancun into the mix and the next three months are shaping up to be one big party.  Have you every been to Cancun?  Apart from Chichen Itza I don’t know what I should do there, so I’d love any recommendations!”

* I absolutely adore this Ikea bedside table hack over on Design Sponge.  What a great idea!

* Speaking of Ikea, I indulged my pitcher desires with this simple $20 pitcher and am planning to paint-dip it soon.  It’s the perfect size for some summer flowers and looks so sweet.

* As a huge Wes Anderson fan, I can’t gush enough about the The Grand Budapest Hotel.  Such a splendid movie: beautiful, rich and engaging.  I suggest you catch it on the big screen!  And don’t miss this re-make of the opening credits of Forrest Gump, Wes-Anderson-Style.
