Sparkling Peach Sangria

August 24, 2015 by Alyssa

Did you know it’s National Peach Month?  Lots of things get their own month these days, but since ‘summer’ and ‘peaches’ are synonymous we’re totally on board.  Since we’re together in San Francisco this week, we’re making this post all about friendship, peaches and tasty beverages.

If you’re new to A&C, you might not know much about our story.  We met in 2011 while working for the same company in San Francisco and became instant friends.  Six months later, Alyssa asked Carla to be one of her bridesmaids (Too soon? I still feel like it may have been a little weird, but I just love this girl! –A), then promptly moved to Tokyo.  We decided to start this blog as a way to MAKE SURE we stayed in touch despite the distance (even with today’s technology, it’s still so easy to lose contact with people!).  Our plan has worked so far, and we discovered a mutual love of blogging in the process.

We G-chat and Facetime all the time, but there’s really no substitute for being in the same room as your best friend.  So when we get together, we celebrate!  Alyssa is in the Bay Area for the week, crashing at Carla’s and distracting her from her other job.  We’re working on a blog redesign (Eeek! Coming soon!), some really fun collaborations, and new products for our Etsy shop for the holiday season.  It’ll be a busy week, but we always make sure we take some time to get pedicures, eat delicious food and do other Very Important Best Friend Things.

We whipped up a batch of this easy and delicious Sparkling Peach Sangria to celebrate being together and to help us stay cool in this toasty summer weather.  Izze sent us some of their Sparkling Peach Juice, which has a really great balance of sweet and tart flavors.  It tastes like real, fresh peaches, not at all like the super sweet, fake peach that we usually associate with peach-flavored things.  Add some sweet white wine and fresh fruit for a refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients
  1. 2 bottles of cold Izze Sparkling Peach Juice
  2. 2 cups chilled sweet white wine, such as Riesling or Moscato
  3. 2 peaches, sliced (we used 1 white peach and 1 yellow peach)
  4. 1 cup berries, such as blackberries or raspberries
Instructions
  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a medium-sized pitcher. Stir to combine.
  2. Spoon some of the fruit into each glass and fill with the soda/wine mixture. If it's an extra-hot day, add a few ice cubes.
  3. Enjoy!

I actually had homemade sangria for the first time this past weekend (I am not a big wine drinker!) Your peach sangria sounds like everything I would love because, well, peaches are amazing!

I’m so happy you girls are together again this week. My BFF has become Jen from YHE, and like you said, even though we chat online all day long, it’s hard to never see each other face to face! This gorgeous sangria is a perfect way to celebrate!
